About Central Fitness

Central Fitness provides custom, one-on-one personal training programs tailored to meet the unique needs, goals, and abilities of each individual. In a one-on-one setting, our certified personal trainers provide you with more individualized attention and guidance than you would receive in a group fitness class. This helps to correct any form or technique issues, and ensures that you are performing exercises safely and effectively. We'll help you achieve the results you want. Together, we'll get you there.

At Central Fitness, we stay ahead of the curve in exercise science. Our team is dedicated to continuous learning, trying out new equipment and techniques, and utilizing our knowledge to create customized workout routines for our clients. Safety and proper form are of utmost importance to us, and we strive to empower our clients to perform exercises within their capabilities and progress towards their personal goals, whether it's to excel in long-distance cycling, tennis, soccer, horse riding, or simply to maintain a healthy physique.

Our bright, clean and well-equipped studio is conveniently located in West Downtown near Sawmill, Old Town, and the Country Club neighborhoods. We also share our space with Desert Oasis Acupuncture, with whom we sometimes consult.

About Me

Hello! My name is Michael Brousseau, and I am the owner and lead trainer at Central Fitness.

I have been in the fitness world for most of my life. When I was younger, I ran competitively and spent a lot of time thinking about, studying and putting into practice different fitness philosophies. From my own personal passion for health and wellness, I decided to make fitness my career.

Today, I am a certified personal trainer and a corrective exercise specialist. I take great joy in designing custom programs for my clients and making sure they are tailor made for each individual. Because when it comes to fitness, one size does NOT fit all. Every person has individual needs, challenges, and goals. At Central Fitness, we promise to help you reach YOUR goals in a manner that works best for YOU.

At Central Fitness, we create programs for the individual, not for the masses. Our personal trainers hold multiple certifications and a passion for helping YOU reach your heath and fitness goals.

Crystal Rael, NASM CPT, CES

Crystal has worked in the fitness industry for 13 years, gaining experience in corrective exercise, weight loss, nutrition, and mindset coaching. As a seasoned personal trainer, she is passionate about advancing in her field and continuing to further her knowledge and growth to help others. In addition to personal training, she is also involved in a life coach certification school. Outside of the office, Crystal enjoys spending time with her two kids, reading, and (you guessed it) working out.

Michael Brousseau

I am certified as a personal trainer and group personal training specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and a certified corrective exercise specialist through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA). I also hold a Les Mills certification in RPM (group indoor cycling). My greatest joy is creating specialized and custom programs for my clients.

I’m also the proud parent of two wonderful children and have been happily married over 20 years. My wife and I spend our free time coaching our kids’ sports teams and, of course, working out.

My journey to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) arose from my own long-term struggles with language processing disabilities, depression, and migraines. TCM has played an essential and powerful role in my own journey to health and joyfulness. I am fortunate to share space with Central Fitness and be able to offer my services on-site to those interested in exploring the many benefits of TCM.

Though I was born at the ocean in Marin County, I grew up right here in Albuquerque, NM. I live with my wife, our 1 year old boy, and our lively dog, Lylah. I like hiking, biking, lifting weights, eating cheesecake, playing board games, brewing Kombucha, and spending time with my family.
